Physical therapy

An active versus Passive Approach

The physical therapists at the Great Lakes Spine Center are among the best trained in the State of Michigan with expertise beyond standard therapies. Special services include:

  • Functional Capacity Evaluation
  • Manipulation
  • McKenzie Method
  • Functional Restoration, and
  • Utilization of MedX technology.

MedX is the most sophisticated rehabilitative equipment in the world. This equipment is used to isolate, test and rehabilitate injured or weakened muscles of the spine.

The McKenzie Method is a philosophy of active pain treatment that emphasizes injury intervention and prevention. It can provide the patient with life-long pain management skills.

Manipulation and other modalities may be used as an adjunct to these therapies, facilitating patient tolerance and faster recovery.

Physical Therapy requires a prescription from a physician, please call 733-7560 for more information.
